The IWC Portugieser is a luxury watch collection created by IWC Schaffhausen, the Swiss watch company founded in 1868. The Portugieser collection is known for its classical design inspired by marine chronometers, it's a blend of precision engineering and traditional watchmaking. These models feature different complications, such as perpetual calendar, tourbillon and chronograph, and are available in a range of materials including steel, gold and rose gold. The Portugieser watches are powered by in-house mechanical movements and are water-resistant to varying degrees. The collection has a rich history, it was first introduced in 1939, and is named after the Portuguese sailors who commissioned IWC to make them precision pocket watches in the 1930s.
